What this site is
dmt-bit.com is the informational site for BIT Protocol— Bitcoin’s security budget layer. BIT Protocol is a protocol-level fork of TAP that activates at Bitcoin block 955,559 and routes every block’s subsidy into eight fixed channels: miners, solo miners, the BitNode Fund, a tribute to predecessor projects, project DAOs, public goods, community grants, and AI agent treasuries. $BITis the protocol’s native token. This site explains the design, the roadmap, and the status.
What this site is not
- Not a wallet. We do not connect to, custody, or interact with any user keys or funds. There is no “connect wallet” button anywhere on this site.
- Not a mint or transaction service. We do not process inscriptions, transfers, or any on-chain action on a user’s behalf. Users interact with Bitcoin directly, from their own wallets.
- Not an exchange. We do not list, trade, custody, or escrow any token.
- Not affiliated with Bitcoin or any wallet vendor. References to third-party tools on this site are informational only.
Status of the protocol
BIT Protocol forks from the TAP protocol at Bitcoin block height 955,559. The Eight Buckets allocation, the BitNode node constraints, Fair Mint 2.0, and the atomic-swap upgrade fields take effect at and after that block; before it, behavior stays compatible with TAP and DMT. Activation is governed by block height, so the exact moment tracks Bitcoin mainnet block production. The design is documented in the BITpaper. The detailed economics of $BIT are decided with the community and published at dmt-bit.com.
Critical: holding and trading DMT-BIT safely
A Bitcoin inscription is bound to one specific UTXO. After the fork, DMT-BIT tokens recognize only BIT Protocol. If the UTXO carrying a DMT-BIT inscription is spent, consolidated, fee-bumped, RBF-replaced, or sent as change inside a wallet, tool, or marketplace that does not support BIT Protocol, the protocol reads that balance as zero. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, so the loss cannot be recovered.
- Trade only on BitDEX, or on a marketplace officially certified as supporting BIT Protocol.
- Do not consolidate, fee-bump, RBF-replace, or move the UTXOs of a DMT-BIT address with an ordinary Bitcoin wallet.
- TAP tools are not BIT Protocol tools. Do not use an old TAP tool to operate DMT-BIT inscriptions until it has been upgraded for BIT Protocol.
- New inscriptions must set
"p": "bit", not"p": "tap", to be indexed by the ord-dmt-bit indexer. Pre-fork"p": "tap"inscriptions stay compatible.
A fork is not an airdrop. BIT Protocol will never ask for your seed phrase to claim a forked token — any such request is a scam. The only official entry points are dmt-bit.com and BitDEX (https://www.bitdex.trade/). Treat every other link as a risk.
No rewards, no presale, no team allocation for $BIT
$BIT is a fair-mint Bitcoin-native token. There is no presale, no private round, no team allocation, no airdrop, and no guaranteed reward. Every $BIT in existence was minted from a Bitcoin block by the public, anchored to on-chain block data. There is no claim mechanism, no whitelist, and no “free” allocation from us.
No financial advice
Nothing on this site is investment, legal, tax, or financial advice. Tokens are volatile and may go to zero. You are responsible for your own decisions. If you do not understand what an on-chain inscription is, how Bitcoin transaction fees work, or what risks you are taking, do not transact. Moving a DMT-BIT UTXO outside a BIT-Protocol-aware environment can destroy your balance permanently — see the safety section above.
